The 13 most powerful trainers in the region thus become the league’s team for the specific region (with some people being traded between regions like Caitlin, Lt Surge, Fantina) and the champion is actually the president of their region too. Battle Frontiers are just spare league members using spare league Pokémon. They’re not bound by regions, but they change by year. And only Champions are using the Pokémon they caught and raised. Gym Leaders and E4 are bound by a type chosen by the Champion. PWT is also league related, So, Castor, Homer, Walter, Ferly, Artura, Delphine, Drakon, Vito, Impera, and Bonnie are Gym Leaders for regions we haven’t seen yet.
