I'll start off by admitting I'm a zoomer (born in '01) and my first game was X when I was 12.
Anyway, I just don't see how the old Pokemon are so universally loved and worshipped. They're not TERRIBLE but they are kinda bad honestly. They have very little personality or defining traits, instead they're just sort of generic monsters and most of them have Goku eyes for some reason.
Meanwhile, the newer gen Pokemon are absolutely oozing with character. They have actual identities and clever themes (Greninja is a ninja, Incineroar is a wrestler, etc) which make them all feel unique. This uniqueness is simply missing in gen 1.
What do you guys think? I want to hear the opinions of older fans and younger fans alike.
