However, you seem to be ignoring the colloquial usage of marriage, which does not need any sort of legal validation. There are plenty of people who do not get married for one reason or another but otherwise behave and refer to themselves as a married couple, and are referred to as married
Like many words, anon, marriage can have multiple meanings, and since I'm using the colloquial usage of the word marriage my marriage has no legal requirements, so therefore I can marry Pokemon. QED
You're ignoring the accepted use of the word, and thus this is more an argument of semantics than anything else.
Just as you argue that it's impossible to marry a Pokemon, I could also argue that ampharos is a Pokemon, not a sheep
