I was already disappointed by some of the things revealed at the time, like how the game looked, the fact they still use those same models with features pasted on like stickers on a cheap made in china surprise egg toy instead of actually modelling these features (eyes, mouth, nose etc), drednaw's design, etc. But the thing that really convinced me that I shouldn't be buying that shit was the moment when they announced the national dex removal. It's not just "hurr ur just mad because u like shitmons". Yeah, I like shitmons, my favourite pokemon is skiddo ffs (yeah I know I complained about gen 6 but one thing I liked about it was the pokemon designs), but that's not the only reason why I'm mad at the decision. They're removing a CORE FEATURE of the franchise, the fucking slogan used to be Gotta catch em all for Christ's sake. How can you catch em all if the game only makes some of them available? Besides that, it continues with this trend of gradually removing features gamefreak has started. They started off by removing small things, like Polkadot Bow and Berserk Gene, items that only exist in gen 2. Then they removed the underground minigame, walking pokemon, pokeathlon, ball capsules, spiky eared pichu. Then they removed the battle frontier. Then they removed FUCKING NATIONAL DEX ENTRIES WHICH THEY LITERALLY JUST HAD TO COPY AND PASTE FROM PREVIOUS GEN ENTRIES LIKE THEY HAVE BEEN DOING FOR A LONG TIME. Now they're removing POKEMON. The thing this whole franchise is about. What's next? Removing Pokeballs? Berries? Natures and abilities? If they just keep doing this and getting away with it like they've been doing for actual, literal years, we'll end up with games with even less content and features than RBY, but way more expensive.
