Hitmonlee is actually pretty good in gen 1's ingame because he hogs all the good Fighting moves. Hitmonchan is just fucking awful.

Hitmonchan is so much better now. Still not good but at least it has some nice coverage with an ability that powers those moves up.

I can understand a psychic type resisting a focus blast which is like a wave of energy
But if you just straight up get punched by someone who can blast through steel, how are you going to say that didn't hurt you but a mosquito bite is deadly

Imagine if Hitmonchan was the only mon that learned elemental punches in gen 1, and the punches did like 250 damage a hit. It only had 35 special so that wouldn't be too bad.
