Nothing about his design, or the design of his staff members, screams that he's a good guy. Plus the three of them are using nothing but Dark types just like Team Break.

Literally all the obvious bad guys have Dark-types which are from Gens 2 or 5 (Honchkrow being a cross Gen of 2 and 4)

Lear has nothing to do with Team Break yet since he really cares about PML. However he is really bitter about his past defeat against Red.

Also it feel like most Team Break member are normal people possessed by some evil mask. Maybe Lear will be possessed those mask after he loses against the player and suffers a mental breakdown..
