I truly fucking despise their designs, they're not funny or goofy looking like they obviously tried to make them, they're just atrocious, the colors are horrid and their proportions look fucking alien. That's basically the plot-twist of the original Baten Kaitos, and it's executed masterfully. Alas, Sword & Shield's MCs are as expressive as an eggplant, so it really doesn't work. It could work in games like Colosseum and Gale of Darkness, where the protagonists actually have a personality.
