And Soble feet look like chameleon feet, with two nubs and all. At least Sobble's have a grounding in reality. If it can move, and look natural doing it, it's functional in Pokemon. and Sobble does both.

Even in official artwork and in-game it's shown fucking smiling, it's not like it's perpetually sad.It's shown crying in the trailer where its introduced alongside Grookey beating on a tree to get a berry and Scorbunny dashing in. It's clearly not only when its in danger. It's shown smiling yes, but crying and sadness is the emotion they want it to be associated with, even giving part of its name to the concept. Its sadness should be conveyed in the design, and the redesign doesn't do it properly.

As an aside, Genwunners constantly complain about Pokemon feeling like character lately, but THE Pokemon character has existed since Kanto with contradictions up the ass to boot
