>>39646867Yeah, it's so weird to me. Up until gen 7, official Pokemon had that je ne sais quoi that with a quick glance you just KNEW they were official. It happened to me the very first time I saw "Luchalitten and friends", for example, or during the gen 6 leaks, it was so easy and natural to tell which were fake and weren't. Many fakemons, no matter how good, almost always fail to capture that charm, whatever it may be.
But with gen 8.. I first felt it with Scorbunny. He just didn't look like a Pokemon at all! The other two were fine, but Scorbunny just felt way off. And then more Pokemon started to come out and I honestly can't see that charm in them, that thing which, well, makes them Pokemon. To me, these new monsters genuinely look like fan creations, or like they belong in another franchise altogether, it's so surreal.
