You're looking for something that isn't there, there are X's all over it's body, that graphic is just an attack it has. We already know there's no real evil team and the actual antagonist is the third legendary thanks to the leaks.

Obstagoon has those "x" symbols on its arms, resembling scars.
The "x" symbol are two lines crossed together.
Obstagoon keeps its arms crossed.
It's meant to represent an obstacle blocking your path.
This move is Obstruct, which in the original version is called "Blocking."
