>>39654078I accept the other answer as a possibility, but I stand by my answer. The division symbol separates everything on either side of it whereas the multiplication symbol groups terms together. The only way to get 16 from this is to group (8/2)4. However, at that point the answer could theoretically be 16 or 4 depending on how much of a smartass or dumbass the writer was. To save myself the headache I'm just going to write 1 and kick the writer in the dick to take home the credit. But if we removed grouping entirely and went from left to right, disregarding the separation caused by the division sign, the answer would be 16.
Tl;dr depending on who taught you PEMDAS, 1 or 16 could logically be the answer but I'm too stubborn to let the transgression of making me use my two(2) brain cells on my day off to agree on what could or should be the correct answer.
