Tbh, I kinda like the Pokemon revealed yesterday (less so for Morpeko since I’m not very big on Pikaclones). I think some of you guys take Pokemon designs way too seriously and need some positivity in your head. Am I not allowed to say something nice about SwSh?

This, the negativity has gotten overboard where no one wants to say anything positive. I just want to see more before I can truly judge the game. Any kind of positivity here get shut down and get called defenders or shills just because you can talk good about the game

The only good one here is morpeko. Switching types sounds fun, just wish the design would be less bean.
The galarian forms are just too on the nose on their inspirations.
The purifier part is clever, but the tophat and gentleman part of Weezing just make it look like a meme design.
Obstagoon just sucks. The legs, the coat, the head, everything. The obstacle joke is nice however, just wish it was used on the actual Linoone line with a better design or just as an one stage not related to it.

I like that galarian forms have been introduced i was scared that regional variants were going to be a gen 7 thing only. What really caught me off guard is a new evolution for linoone that is galar form only.

While idk if I’m going to be buying the game yet it’s cool to see what they come up with

I'm really trying to like these games, but the only things I like so far are Galarian Weezing, Grookey, the setting, and a few of the human designs which is outweighed by the bullshit they're doing. Can you blame me for expecting more from the series' first console game?

Ok. I like subtlety as much as the next guy, but I don't mind themes that are "on the nose" but it's subjective of course.

I only liked the characters they introduced. Compared to the last trailer, this didn't do much for me. Weezing looks ridiculous, that hamster looks way too much like Pikachu to me, and I'm not a Zigzagoon fan.

Confirmation of forms and regional evolutions was cool though.

Yes. Game Freak never showed they were interested in Pokémon games reaching scales that couldn't be kept on a handheld nor have they stated that the first console game meant anything special to them that a more powerful handheld wouldn't have meant. I won't blame you for wanting more, but I will blame you for EXPECTING more since that expectation didn't take into account the people making the game.

I think the Obstagoon design would work well as one of Freeza's soldiers or as the wolf dude from Smile Pretty Cure, but as a Pokémon it just doesn't work, especially not as an evevolution of Linoone.

Bipedal fursuit like Lucario where Riolu is already bipedal is fine for me. Linoone suddenly gaining human legs with vague black fur tights feels wrong somehow.

i really hope the shiny one looks better, maybe the galar anime can give it an actual personality, like i didn't like meltan when it was first revealed but the anime really did a good job in giving it some character and i started to like him

People forget that GF's reaction to the NDS, a console that could output 3D graphics superior to the entire N64 library, was "make the GBA games with minor 3D effects on backgrounds", up to the very end of the console with no ambition beyond doing what they already knew worked. They've always been technologically conservative.

Yes. In the Caniformia sub-order, the only animals that aren't plantigrade are Canidae and Pinnipedia. Badgers are in Musteloidea, so they are plantigrades.

Their use of GBA technology wasn't much better. Gen 3 looks like a remake of the GBC game that didn't want to fuck with the original overworld sprites too much.

I like Obstagoon, I can understand why some might find his design weird but to me he just looks like a Gnoll. It's legs could look more natural but other than that it is fine. Morpeko is the gross one, it looks like a minion and none of it's colors work together.
