Most pokemon seem to have have higher intelligence then the average animal in the real world, and and I'm pretty sure real animals in the pokemon world were retconned a while ago, so how the hell is there meat and fish and shit unless breeders are literally slaughtering pokemon?
maybe the meat comes from all our bad IV hatched pokemon
