For me I've always liked bulky and weird Pokemon. Chesnaught being my all time favorite. Exploud and Bronzong hit both attributes for me.

So what two attributes do you look for?

Cool and sleek?
Cute and grumpy?
Metallic and fiery?

I have no idea. I wonder if someone can find the connecting traits from my favorites: Blastoise, Ampharos, Exploud, Drapion, Reuniclus, Tyrantrum.

Breloom is most likely because gen 3 were my first games and he came with me throughout the journey, saving my ass at Sydney's E4 fight, but Impidimp and Marshadow I like because they look like something kid me would draw.
It might sound a bit autistic but I used to be obsessed with those old-timey cartoons, as well as exaggerated proportions. Impidimp hits all the right notes for me with it's huge tongue, long limbs, and general devilish aura, and Marshadow's short legs and wide arms that get longer from the shoulder are really appealing to me, as well at it looking really darn cute

Nah. Not autistic at all. Impidimp is just a fun creature and it expands the art style a bit. It reminds me of a weird Meowth.

My faves are Breloom, Hitmontop and Umbreon in no particular order, plus I like most of gen 2 and gen 3 "cool but soft/goofy" design philosophy, but I guess that's because I started out with Colosseum and it's filled with Johtomons and Hoennmons so they were my first contact with the franchise.
Anyway, I guess what my faves have in common is that they look like friendly but able to kick asses

I don't know how explain my taste, but I will try this.

I love when a design make me smile for some reason. Sometimes is because the Pokémon is comfy to see but isn't a blatant cutemon (ie Torterra, Aggron). Or when the Pokémon has a funny design with a funny personality (Gengar and Probopass fits here imo). Also, I love artifactmons (or similar) with weird designs like Cofagrigus, Dhelmise and Sigilyph.

All Pokémon that made me smile the first time I saw them were in my team at least once.

In summary, funnymons and artifactmons.

Mons that are emotionless, or cold, or... anything like that. I really like Type: Null, Silvally, and Dhelmise for those traits. I think it's cute to feed them pokebeans. Generally murky or muted color schemes are my favorite. I've found that I like a lot of water types because im really into jagged, rocky beaches and nautical things

This is gonna be a bit vague but for me it's pretty mons that have quirks in their design or personality that make them fun to think about in all kinds of situations. Stuff like Milotic or Lilligant don't do it of me because they're just "pretty" without any other nuisance to them and that doesn't leave much room for interpretation.

Honestly, I've always favored slim yet bulky smooth pokemon, like kyogre, vaporeon, staraptor, and serperior. They look like they got bulk in the body or tail, yet slender otherwise

I like pokemon that are small and have canonically killed people or could potentially kill a person.

The more ridiculous that is the better. Its not so much that it's for the edgy factor, just for the conflict of "small cute thing that would probably eat your face/eat your children"

Drifloon, Stufful, Litwick and Sandygast are prime examples,
