For me, pokemon is not about quality over quantity because the quantity is the quality. There have been bad designs since the beginning. This is clearly just them not wanting to reveal everything like they did the past 2 gens.
Going by how things were in XY and SM, we can already expect like 20-30 Gigantamax forms and 10-20 Glarian forms. We'll likely get 70-80 new mon alongside those.

We probably got 3 more major trailers left, at the start of September, October and November. One of those trailers will probably focus on the Pokemon Camp that's replacing Refresh and cooking. Another will focus on starter evoluitons (likely in October). There's also still the other pair of version exclusive gym leaders the site hints at by saying some towns, plural, have exclusive gym leaders.
There's still probably tons of shit they can show, but they're not going to show everything before release this time.

1. Old legendaries won't be in a new game, except some post-game thing (hopefully). You're in no danger of running into them during a Nuzlocke.
2. Landorus in particular is obviously because of competitive. Why not be in favour of getting the games to create actual battle tiers and banned pokemon? That's the most logical way to go about it. You don't have to remove them entirely from the game. How about pushing for an actual developed battle frontier with different modes and tiers, banned moves, and banned pokemon settings? You could even create non-Smogon tiers like "no legendaries". The possibilities are endless and would be greatly enhanced by the inclusion of all the pokemon.
3. I quite like Scrafty. Like I said, a cull can not remove "objectively bad" pokemon, because there is no objectivity. If you still want to remove Scrafty after I say I like him, then you're just being selfish. If you have more examples there will be as many people saying they like that pokemon you think is worth culling.

We've gotten way fewer Pokemon (35 to 18-21 depending on if you count Gigas) and fewer details in general. The only thing we've gotten more of actually is character reveals since SM didn't start showing characters till August really. They're clearly changing up how they're doing reveals this time around, focusing more on building up story stuff by showing us characters and fewer Pokemon.

Mail was cut because they couldn’t have kids write nasty things to each other. Same reason a lot of similar features have been cut like ball capsules and having your signature on your trainer card.

It's not typically for constructive discussion, as there's usually mudslinging and disregard for any discourse that questions the popular points of contention. It isn't so the franchise gets better, because the community doesn't have a direct say and just gets agitated and returns the frustration in kind. It isn't because they really hate Pokemon, because for the most part, people that take this kind of stance have been conversationally obsessive about grinding their teeth toward and with the community and insulting those who don't feel the same.

It feels almost as blueballs as USUM, which ended up being fucking nothing. Now I understand not wanting to see everything, but at the same time the trailers should make you excited and want to buy the game. I'm not going in blind just to find out if it's worth it or not, only to be potentially disappointed.
They have 3 months left to show something truly exciting or we'll have to rely on leaks and datamines.

Fuck you, I use a Moxie Scrafty with Knock off, Drain Punch, Ice Punch and Dragon Dance and shit wreaks havoc once it starts rolling. It's one of my favourite Pokémon.

I was planning to not buy the game at launch and wait until February or getting it second hand, but if Scrafty isn't in, a fucking punk Pokémon not in Poké-UK, I'm not buying the game never.

It's sad, because the game looks like shit, and GigaDynamax is fucking broken and silly. Literally the laziest thing they've ever done (specially Dynamax). Instead of making interesting gameplay they're focusing on characters that will appear on screen at most 10 minutes, and once you've swooped the floor with them defeating theyr whooping 2-3 Pokémon, they'll be sitting at their gym/evil guy lair or disappear forever.

But waifus/husbandos (and furbait Pokémon) create the bigger ruckus on social media, so they go with it for free advertisement

That's how most "normal" games go. E3 builds are usually the most presentable at the time and get gradually better the more trailers are released, at least for Nintendo games.
Western studios just throw out the best looking and taxing build they've got then shit out the actual game severely downgraded.

Dude ate a fake leak. Affleck only mentioned the squirrels, the seagull/barracuda and Impidimp was revealed by the demo. There's nothing to suggest the rest are actually real (Teapotphant looked like it was actually a Badge to me, rather than a pokémon design too so there's that).

I think this is the gen I'm most interested in the story for once. Mainly because it's actually a story naturally connected to the player's journey. It's centered around the League itself, with the rivals actually mattering and the villains most likely being the ones running shit. Don't see why not. People usually say there were about 80 new mon in SM, but it was really more like 98 cause people tend to not count the Alolan forms in that list.
The same is probably going to happen here. 70-80 whole new mon, 10-20 Galarian forms, and like 20-30 Giga forms (when we first got megas we got 30 of them).
