To be fair, there are only like 22 pokemon revealed so far and while you can certainly formulate some really basic teams with that the threads end up just becoming kind of repetitive and monotonous.
I think the official information every month has killed a lot of the methods used in old hype season. It’s a lot easier to fake a corocoro scan with some art than try to make a realistic screenshot, most of those get debunked immediately.
I miss the Gen V and early Gen VI days too but to be honest I will gladly take a two minute trailer every month than a blurry corocoro scan so

It’s no fun to make a creative/weird/imaginative team if there’s a high probability that 50% or more of your team will be cut. Sure, you could make a team of just the new mons, but with only like 15 revealed, there’s not much variance.

Yeah, they've revealed way fewer mon at this point than they did in the past two gens. It really is probably due to them not wanting to spoil everything like they did last gen.

But of course, that just feeds into the people wanting to hate the games claiming that the game won't have many new Pokemon which is clearly BS. We're certainly getting 70-80 new mon like we have the past two gens, plus another 10-20 galarian forms.
