But then again, Team Skull ended up being surprisingly charming so maybe it'll work. Depends if they have some kind of likeable team boss aside from Marnie I guess.

I think that deciding how good or bad a team is before playing the game is retarded. Specially now that the evil teams actualy get decent flavor dialogue instead of the absolute bores we got before ORAS.

I have no expectations for this team but I don't know how GameFreak would manage to make these guys charming outside of the memes we make.
Unlike other teams where there is some form of organized crime going on in some form or fashion this team has nothing besides "rowdy fans that'll scream in your ear if you beat their waifu", as far as we know, probably this >>39684508
The Grunts themselves are worse than/on par with Flare and I really don't like the color scheme they got going.

Factualy? No. Not they're not, Because Plasma is melodramatic boring shit, Aqua and Magma were shit and Galactic was also shit.

The "goal" isn't what makes good characters, specially now in a RPG of this format. Team Skull was hilarious, and it was better at being funny than any evil team ever was at being imposing and threatening.

They're basically Team Skull right after we already had Team Skull, except they're an inferior knockoff. I like the idea of someone's rabid fanbase getting in your way, but I think it would've probably been better to have an evil team that's drastically different from the previous game to avoid repetition.

People try to say Team Skull were not evil or not that bad, but that's just because of the Aether behind the curtain thing for the upper directions. Remember everything else:
>Steal Pokemon / items
>Beat up people
>Drove EVERYONE ELSE out of an entire town
>Cut off everyone from one of the Z-crystal types
>Destroyed said town and left it in ruins and blocked off by massive walls

For stuff the team actually did, its higher than Galactic. Galactic tried to change the universe, sure, but they didn't succeed. Otherwise they pulled off a few test bombs, facility takeovers, and tortured a few (albeit powerful) Pokemon.

Could be cool if they start off just as hooligans, but over the course of the game become more serious and an actual threat. Maybe Marnie tells them fuck off and they go find a new waifu/husbando (maybe Rose). Rose turns them into an actual militia or some shit like that. Make it a bit less edgy and this could be different enough from SM.

I think they're gonna be similar to but a bit different than Team Skull.

Skull was purely destructive, wanting to live their life as they wanted. Yell has an edge over that by the fact that they disrupt and destroy towards a constructive goal, getting Marnie a better chance at becoming the champion.
They're probably going to be disruptive assholes for like 60% of the game, then once it comes out that Rose is evil and he starts taking more direct moves to try and stop Marnie and the PC, Skull will shift to being good guys and prove their affection to Marnie by helping stop/stall whatever forces Rose sends their way.

No they weren't. And factually yes, Plasma, Galactic, Aqua and Magma are better, because at least they actually DRIVE the plot instead of wasting my time with memes and wacky hijinx. Team Skull were unfunny jobbers that contributed barely anything to the plot other than kidnapping Lillie and Cosmog for the REAL villains of Gen 7 and had a shit payoff. Even Team Rocket wasn't this bad.

Team Skull looks good and vaguely menacing until they start acting like total clowns. Their uniforms are practical but carry the team motif, and logo is clearly an S and a stylized skull.
Team Yell looks like they were made to be as visually revolting as possible without looking dangerous at all. The "uniforms" are fucking skinny jeans, denim vest, and a halter top *on the fat dude*. And the logo is... Is it a claw? A "please don't sue us Nike" swoosh? It looks like the word "PUKE" is written over the top of the logo.
It's all just bad. And not villainously bad, but just shitty bad.

The problem is Skull could have easily been the evil team, a team of hooligans slowly escalating their troublemaking as you progress your journey in Alola. At least they'd make you care about them if they're constantly getting in your way. Lusamine and Aether were Lillie and Gladion's antagonists and you oppose them to do your part in Lillie's story.
