You can solo a lot of the game with the Sinnoh starters, since they're overpowered as hell (ESPECIALLY Infernape). If you want to build a big team, you can get a soothe bell pretty quickly to help you evolve Pokemon like Budew into Roselia, since there's quite a few friendship mons in this game that are fairly useful iirc. Gastrodon is also a surprisingly well built Pokemon. When I first saw Cynthia's DP team, I laughed because of the grass weakness, but it's actually a decent mon.
