Before that he was just documenting his playthrough of the game and cracking jokes along the way. Norman was the beginning of the comic actually having a plot, which lead to what it is now.
Now the game is an afterthought. He completely glossed over the battles with Burgh and Elesa, skipped the battles with Clay, Skyla, and Brycen, the latter two not even appearing, and Luke evolved off-screen with no attention drawn to it.
Seriously, you might not have even noticed since there was no attention drawn to it, but he's sitting there in the background as a Dewott in episode 10, doesn't appear at all in episode 11, and is standing there as a Samurott in episode 12.
It shows a clear shift in priorities.
