have you tried rubbing some contact cleaner/isopropyl alcohol on the contacts?
is that the only 3DS you have?
think you can use another, like a friend's?
i honestly doubt the cart is faulty, perhaps the save file got corrupted beyond recovery and its causing the game crash everytime, you would need a homebrew app to try to delete the save, or to check more in-depth if the problem is indeed the cart, you could also try ripping the save with it at least if you had access to homebrew
