I've never used any of the Pokemon in red in-game before. Which ones should I give a shot next time I play?

Please try Woobat and Swoobat. I used them in my first Black playthrough and they were honestly MVPs from start to finish.

Try to use the Hoppip line. Training it in the first levels is fucking tedious, but Jumpluff isn't as bad as i thought.

Skill Link Cloyster is amazing if you can get a shellder
Mismagius is a decent special attacker for an ingame team with some decent options
Drizzle Peliper is fun with tailwind and hurricane
Bewear is a little slow but hot damn that power
Meinshao with High Jump Kick and Accrobatics was an old gen 5 staple

Not OP, how do I get over the no-legendary disease? I'd like to use some but anything that's a box art legend or strong event mon (dexoys, arceus, etc.). I've opened up to stuff like the birds, dogs, mew, celebi, etc. over the years but i'm still have some anti-legend autism for some reason. How do I get over it or should I just keep using non-uber legend/mythicals?

Use low level legendaries and you will learn to appreciate them. They have shit level-up move pools and take a fuck load of experience to level up, so you'll realize they are actually balanced in-game if you use them from the start.

Stuff like Mewtwo can only be caught at level 70, but there are legendaries like Regigigas, Creation Trio, Lugia, Ho-Oh and some others can be caught at level 1 (level 5 for Lugia Ho-oh)
