Personally, ever since I saw it my immediate thought was "Wow. What a retarded, ugly, unimaginative looking pokemon. Fucking boring." when I played Crystal and such.

....Then I got Pokemon Colosseum and XD:GoD. Caught this ball of lumpy moonrock.

And throughout my entire playthrough, I LOL'd at the pathetic attempts to dent or make a scratch on this son of a bitch, and no matter who faced me, this lumpy moonrock with nerd glasses was sent out in a pair with any other mon. He shined as a tank in doubles, while my glass cannon Espeon wrecked every poor fucker.

I initially didn't really care about it during the gen II days but it really grew on me on HGSS.
The derpy design with that good bulk really sells it.
