Regardless, whether or not you feel the proposition is enticing when related to cost is both subjective and entirely in your hands. If you don't believe the cost is justified for what's on the table, I won't try and enforce otherwise and you aren't somehow wrong for not wanting it.
I found the experience to be enjoyable in presentation and execution with enough in the way of differences and overall length to make the investment one that I'm personally satisfied with. The capture system implementation that makes catching Pokemon an involved chunk of the gameplay loop, the resulting Shiny hunting improvements, and partner Pokemon engagement were all highlights in my run through and make these my go-to variation of Gen 1 amongst the options available.
