They honestly should just start using modern particle effects already. Set a source, then a destination, and voila, your move can be adapted to any target.
It's the whole reason why they change the moves during those times (also probably performances, with the additional effects on the dynamaxed pokémon), because they design their animations to work with specific camera angles and fixed, baked, effects.

I honestly think that they should do less sparkly / flashy move effects in favor for the Pokemon themselves move and attack its enemy since they're cutting the dex (but we know that's just an excuse out of both time constraint and laziness).

The game is not up to the standard of a modern day title or even a title from 3 years ago. A video like this is clearly a nitpick but it shows that GF is cutting corners with little things like this too.

GF does not care to put 100% effort into making their mainline games. Don't indulge them into churning out half assed products. Or else the series will get worse as GF realizes how low they can place the standard of quality in their games.

I want you anons to imagine that the game is good. That would be nice right? You have good graphics, good animations, fantastic renders, great terrain quality, dense folliage, post processing, good lighting, good shadows. Hell maybe a physics engine too? Things modern games have been doing since 2015.
The reality is pokemon doesn't have any of those technologies. GF has not made their best effort to make a game and even then it still lag spikes in the demos.
Does that not bother you? How much more lazy and incompetant does GF have to be before you say, "I think this is bad?" or you have had enough?

Also not only this but the moves are fucking reduced so how is it confusing that the animations would be simplified the same way Grass Knot becomes D-Grass attack whatever? It’s not illogical or significantly impactful at fucking all. And no one liked or celebrated or even regretted the removal of Z-Moves which was basically just a move animation gimmick that did nothing to make the games feel memorable.
