In XY we had less Pokemons because of Megas
In Sun and Moon we had less Pokemons because of Alola forms

This time we have Gigantamax plus Galar forms, which are both of those hurdles at the same time.

You should be ready for only 50 new Pokemon since there will also be 40 slots wasted among giant forms and regional forms.

That worries me because in gens 6 and 7 they actually were autistic enough to make it so the sum of new pokémon + new megas/forms in the first game of the generation was exactly 100

Why are people obsessed with having a ton of new Pokemon? I genuinely don't get it. There's so many already. I wouldn't even mind if they straight up made a game with no new Pokemon and just focused on other areas of the game. The first game had 150 because it had no previous base to build off. Also we're missing a LOT of types still and they've always given us at least 1 of every type in each generation.
So far we haven't gotten any Bug, Ghost, Fighting, Ice, Ground or Psychic, and now non-starter Fire.

What's even better is Game Freak staff LOVE the man (he didn't get asked to finalise Bruxish's design for nothing, especially when it was a Nip admitting to a gaijin they wanted help with it) and now Masuda's fucked off upstairs, he along with Ohgmori are the only people to have directed more than one Game Freak-developed game this decade (as well as creating one of those games to boot). He's taking over Sugi's role as Sugi don't give a shit about the pokémon designs no more and ultimately will end up as director.

But that's literally what happened dickhead. Game Freak count Megas/Regional forms as new designs and adding the megas and regional/UB's to the totals of actually new pokémon in Gen VI and VII give you over 100 new additions to the total each Gen.

It sounds strong, but it's a pretty costly tradeoff.
Max moves aren't exactly for just killing shit. their secondary effects are largely setup stuff. Finale works best as a late game tool to come back from some damage, which means you're giving up the early setup options of other Max options.
