Sure it was only 5 more Pokémon, but if space was really an issue I don’t think they would have not only added more pokemon, but picked the game where they supposedly almost cut the dex,to break the 20+ year established rule that Pokémon are never added mid-gen

Space isn't an issue, they're just pressed for time. Gamefreak's full of mediocre devs who desperately need more time to actually make the game but they're probably forced to release the games based on a certain schedule so merchandise can be sold.

It's not about space. It's about having to add animations for 800+ different things for every new feature you want to add and polishing every model every time there's a hardware upgrade.

They could merely patch it in. I’d be content waiting, bank always took like 2 or 3 months to update for the new gen, even for a $10 fee, which I’m sure most of you would hate, but if a small fee gets me a complete gen 8 dex then idc

They could even wait for the next game to implement the full dex. I get it if it takes a while, but gen 1 is modeled. And once they’re all eventually modeled, why would they not fucking use them? To have all 900+ Pokémon modeled but to think “oh for armor version I think I’ll only use 600” is stupid, there’s no reason to not implement what you already have, as it is, gen 7 was just a glorified gen 6+ that used the same models as before

Honestly, at my most extreme, I’d be content with no new Pokémon. I’d rather have them halt and bring forth what we have already then to play this guessing game of who is coming and who isn’t. It’s not fun anymore to add new Pokémon if you have to kick others out

But it's all for TPC's bottom line. They don't use more resources because resources cost money and they know the game will sell even if they don't put in more effort anyway.
