Not exactly, you can import any pokémon from rsefrlg after defeating the elite four so there's that, you can use gen III mon to fight Red.

Why not just cheese it with Groudon at that point? Same goes for any battle in the postgame, you can just transfer over your high leveled teams from previous games.

Seems pointless when you could just simply use better Pokemon than Shedinja. Also Misdreavus doesn't auto-win like in GSC, since Snorlax has Blizzard/Crunch/Shadow Ball. You're better off just stuffing X items onto something. Steelix laughs at Pikachu if you feel like using that.

Are HGSS runs any good?
The only Pokemon speedruns I ever found enjoyable were RBY and Pearl because of how insanely broken they are.

Watch Werster's. He RNGabuses it to get a masterball from the lottery and catches a modest/Timid HP Ice Raikou with it. Werster said the lack of RNG abuse like that is why he has no interest in speedrunning anything past gen 5.
