>>39717921I was only 7 years old when this happened to me. Pokemon Blue came out, and I was excited to get it .I begged my parents to get me Pokemon. Unfortunantly, we were poor, so we couldn't afford many things. On my brithday that year though, I unwrapped a small cartridge. It was colored Black, and had the words "Play" imprinted on them. The sticker said "Pokemon, Blue version." and I was so excited that I didn't think about why my cartridge was so different than my two other Gameboy games, Tetris, and Super Mario Land.
I immediately pull out my Giant Brick Gameboy, and put the cartridge in.
>Welcome to the world of Pokemon Anon. Woah! It knew my name!
I go to put in a different name, but all the name options appear as my name. Everytime I tried inputting something different, an error sound would play until I put in my name.
>This is my grandson, his name is INOCENT. Skip through the rest of it.
Start in Pallet Town.
Mom says to me "I wish you would've left sooner." I leave the house, unable to re-enter. I talk to everyone in town, they disappear after talking to them.
I try going out in the grass, and Professor Oak stops me.
A Pokemon battle happens, but Professor Oak is nowhere to be seen. The Pokemon was a Kabutops skeleton, and it knocks me out.
I wake up in Viridian City. I try going south to Pallet Town, but when I get close enough to the town a message appears "You can't go back."
I decide to check my inventory, I have 13 Master Balls and a Pokemon named ???
I check it out, its Level 0, with Hyper Beam, Fissure, Surf and Strength. It looked like a Substitue Doll. I play the game normally, however notice that once I've beaten a gym leader, I can't return to the town...and for some reason when I tried to throw a Master Ball at a Pokemon, a message reading "You shouldn't use that here." would pop up. I did notice around Blaine however, that in my menu, the badges didn't appear, but rather the gym leaders would be X'd out. 1/2
