At the end, Shota was same tier as Kenta from Beyblade Metal fusion.

As I told you before, a guy will not become as good as Mike Tyson if he take notes. It will take more than just training and notes to go anywhere near Mike Tyson or any other accomplished sports figure.
Its sad that XY fans has to treat mundane thing as special because XY did it.
