>>39719344>The french translators were more stupidAs always, they do some fuckups but they already did some changes to the names in the past
Per ex. "Ténèbres" (Dark/Darkness) was chosen as the French name for Night Shade in gen 1
But in gen 2, they had to choose a name for the dark type, and obviously "Ténèbres" was chosen
This lasted until gen6 which allowed for longer move names, and the name of the move was renamed to "Ombre Nocturne" which literally means Night Shade
Same for "Capacité Spéciale", the old name for Ability which could also be understood as "special move", until gen 6 when it was renamed to "Talent"
