For the past few years (except last year) TPCi has done a small announcement during the opening ceremony for the World Championships:
2013 - Mega Kangaskhan
2014 - Mega Slowbro
2015 - Pokken WiiU
2016 - Crabrawler
2017 - Clangorous Soulblaze
It is expected for them to reveal something related to Sword/Shield this time (not the National Dex). Likely there will also be TCG and maybe more Pokken and Pokemon GO news as well.
