Let's correct a broken record, by being a different record, shall we?
Your first error is the rat. Cyndaquil is obviously an echidna. The snout is shaped similarly, along with it not having a long tail.
Second is the dog. Fennekin is a fox, specifically a Fennic Fox, known for their large ears. At no point does it lose that characteristic, and no dog has large, upright ears.
Thirdly, although this isn't as important, is the choice of dragon. The chinese dragon was what the zodiac meant by dragon, and not only is Charmander not an eastern dragon, it isn't even a dragon at all. The only dragon in the line is Charizard, and it's a typical european dragon, albeit fatter than that shitty one from Dragon Tales.

The only evidence needed to disprove the Zodiac theory is the fact that Foxes aren’t Dogs and Echidnas/Badgers are not Rats. No amount of “Close enough”s and reposting the 7 red squares with 1 red rectangle will change that. And it’s very apparent Zodiacfags don’t know the weight Fenniken and Cyndaquil hold against them.
It’s not even just Foxes =/= Dogs and Echidnas =/= Rats. If you choose to accept that Cynaquial is actually a mouse because the pokedex said so, you are discounting several other fire starters who are considered something like “Volcano” or “Flame”, which aren’t even animals. And this includes Fennekin too, as its considered the Fox Pokemon.
If you choose to say Fennekin is part of the Zodiac, simply because it’s “close enough” to a dog, then you have to discount Cyndaquil as it’s not remotely close to being a mouse in any shape.

There is literally no official source calling Cyndaquil an echidna. No dex entry, not a part of its name in any language, nothing. The animals used to describe it or are used as pat of its name in other languages are mouse, rodent, porcupine, and hedgehog.
"But none of those are rats", you might say. Actually the Japanese language doesn't differentiate between mice and rats. Hedgehogs, despite not being rodents are referred to as needle mice in Japan.
"But it looks like an echidna and not a rat/mouse/rodent/porcupine/hedgehog" I agree, but lots of gen2 pokemon look nothing like their inspirations. Lanturn looks almost nothing like an anglerfish. You would never guess Ampharos was a sheep if you didn't see its prevolutions.

Porcupines are rodents.
Although I'm pretty sure GameFreak only started actively following the zodiac pattern in gen 3, since they never expected there to be more than 1 or 2 generations. They likely just saw that they used a dragon and a rodent, noticed the connection, and kept using zodiac animals.
