Probably closing ceremony will show something. Maybe even a demo announcement. I'm confident they will have a demo out before release since the backlash has been severe.

there aren't going to be many new pokemon in the game. There are only 3 trailers left before launch if they stick to 1 trailer per month and a lot of reveals are just going to be evolutions/gigantamax/galarian forms.

Though I don't really give a shit about new pokemon anymore; there are already fucktons of pokemon and most of the new ones have shit designs anyway.

XY had less new mon because of Megas
Alola had less new mons because of Alola forms

This new game has Gigamax and Galar forms. Which means two things draining the resources at once.

Generations that have alternate forms tend to be smaller. I'm pretty sure Gamefreak counts things like Mega Evolutions and regional forms as "new Pokemon" even if fans don't.

They do. in XY if you count all Megas plus new Pokes you get exactly 100 monsters. In Sun and Moon if you count all new monsters plus alola forms plus UBs you get 100 monsters.

They have an autistic need to stick to 100 monsters.
