>>39730460I'd like to point out that, in my opinion at least, Clefable is safe BECAUSE it's from Gen 1.
All pokemon in gen 1 had ridiculous and insanely huge movepools, even if they learned things that didn't make sense (how does Venusaur use swords dance?). Clefable has always had one of the biggest move pools in the entire series, with an almost endless variety of fantastic choices to choose from, and they just don't do that anymore. For something to outclass Clefable it's need to:
-Be a Fairy type
-Have a movepool as big as or bigger than Clefables
-Have better stats in every category
-Have the same abilities that Clefable has
Yes, many fairies exist that have better stats, but when was the last pokemon after Gen 4 that actually had such a ridiculous and expansive movepool? The only pokemon I can even think of that rival Clefable's amount of options are Mew (the fetus cat), Arceus (literally god) and Smeargle (who learns everything in the game aside from a couple of moves and fulfills a completely separate niche than it). They'll probably never make a Fairy Type that can rival it on that front, and as long as that holds true Brofable is here to stay.
