you seem to underestimate how good "automatic" is as opposed to a turn of setup. It's why literally no one uses rain dance but we've had entire metagames based around weather.

Both are mediocre gimmicks. One is slightly better than the other, but both are mediocre gimmicks all the same. Slaking will be absolutely unusable when Weezing dies / switches out. Also this >>39728761. Regigigas is unplayable

If you want to use weird doubles gimmicks just use sturdinja or some discharge / surf / lava plume + absorb ability.

But yeah, the second won't really be used either outside of meme teams from epic youtubers, the true use for G-Weezing is dealing with meta threats the opponent has and act as defensive support.
