12 million, very slightly above LGPE. Will not really flop but it won't sell as good as other generations entry titles, mainly because the price rise, a more expensive console and because bad advertising will take its toll on the sales.
And if they sell less, they will rig the numbers to not disappoint the shareholders nor the Chinese as they did with LGPE.

Probably no more than ten mil but not much lower. These games are guaranteed to be successful but they’ll fail to meet console debut expectations. And it’s not even because of the rightful dexit outrage, the install base just isn’t there and not every switch owner necessarily cares about Pokémon. SWSH likely faces real competition from Dragon Quest, an objectively better console JRPG.

I know this doesn't make much sense, but I think SWuSHi will be like Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Think about it.
- dexit controversy is global
- it's on switch. $500 + $60 at least.
Even with XYORASSMUSUM it's pushing it with $40 price tag and $300 handheld, and now they expect people to buy them coupled with dexit?
- as you've said, there are better games on the switch currently. SMP and BoTW can hold its value, but more than that, there are better games coming out this year like DQ, FE, etc.

I'm being generous and realistic here. I agree it'll reach 10 mil, but probably not more than 12.
