1. Charizard and Swampert have amazing synergy, arguably the best in the games. They cover each other's weaknesses perfectly. Swampert is only weak to Grass, which Charizard has a 4x resistance to. Charizard is weak to Electric, which Swampert is immune to. Charizard is also weak to rock, which Swampert resists. Charizard is weak to water, which Swampert is neutral to and can be weakened with Sunny Day. Both are neutral to Ice. Charizard is immune to ground, and Swampert is neutral against it.
2. Both get extremely powerful attacks that target the entire room. Charizard gets Heat Wave, and Swampert gets Earthquake, Surf and Blizzard.
3. Charizard can fly over gaps, while Swampert can swim over water.
