I think you need some color work. A lot of the designs have pretty bland colors, especially compared to official Pokémon. I think your dex could use some brighter yellows — many of the shades of yellow you use are on the pale or brown side.

This dex conceptually shits all over sage imo. If we were to compare individual designs, than yes Sage definitely has far better ones.

But as unit this dex is more cohesive and in depth ideas, that conceptually makes sense for the theme of the region.

Essentials is easy to use but you don't announce a game before you actually know how to use the engine you're programming in. This is before I even get into the full fakedex. Does op know how to script hundreds of mons worth of unique stat spreads, abilities, learnsets, TM and tutor pools, egg moves, etc.?

I do agree with a lot of people here that it’s way too early to create hype about this project and start advertising it. I’d wait until you’d have a demo with at least 1 gym first. It takes more than just concept art to make a game and it does take a lot of effort and time. Showing off your PokeDex is fine I think, but everything else seems to need a lot of work.

One thing I’d also suggest is using only a section of California rather than the entire west coast of the US and choose a place that can be less linear feeling with a good amount of water for catching water mons. There’s a reason why Hoenn is flipped sideways or why Unova is only a small portion of New York. Perhaps you should look at some sprite tutorials too to also help you with the outline stuff, it’s always difficult to grasp at first.

Sorry I'm late. But here are the teams so far.

I think I will also explain the system in my region too. There's actually a mix of trials and gyms. Defeating trials will give you something called patches, and gyms gift you regular gym badges. In my head, I have it planned where you have to defeat the trial Pokemon before you can challenge the gym. Trial challenges will probably have to be static encounters. There are 4 trials and 4 gyms.
Finally there's this kind of exam thing that plays like a battle tower/tree guantlet that tests to see whether or not you can battle the Pokemon League. Last fight is pretty much a glorified gym fight with the exam master. Where they give you the final badge. Pic related is basically a trial captain, but you can battle them once the trial is completed.

After all of that i's the standard Elite 4 than Champion.
