>>39742871>How in the fuck could any conscious thinking being turn down the adventure of a lifetime in a world where fantasy becomes reality?my headcannon prevents me from thinking that it would just be a world of adventure. for example, i can't get into falconry irl because it's a shitton of work. Housing the falcon is out of the question since I live in an apartment but let's just pretend I don't need to worry about that since I can just put my Starly into a Pokeball. Okay, with normal falconry a big part of it is weight your falcon regularly to keep it a healthy weight since falcons will literally just drop dead if they're underweight. The point I'm making is taking care of an exotic animal is a full time hobby, why the fuck would taking care of a Pokemon, much less SEVERAL, be any less?
I assume gyms are like community centers for the needs of specific types. I could go to a flying gym and they'd have all the equipment I'd need to weigh my Starly, it's specialized food, enrichment activity, etc. I also assume that the entire reason why people generally have one type of Pokemon if they have multiple ones is because they know all the special care that type of Pokemon needs. Ace trainers and league professionals are probably hyper autists that know the ins and outs of what every type needs in addition to species specific shit like "I can't send my Charizard out in sub zero temperature too frequently or it'll get sick",
I'd just work a job strongly related to Pokemon like a Pokemon dietician or at the city's gym to help people take care of their Pokemon and battle people with league ambition. Probably a fighting or flying gym since those are the easiest for me to understand. I'd just want to live a normal life and mating press anyone I defeat in battle
