also gen 5 has far worse than the ice cream. scrafty, krookodile, the genies and the elemental monkeys are some of the worst designs in pokemon history.
the herdier line takes the shittest most bland breed of dog ever and uses that as a basis.
the regional bird is a fucking pigeon, compare that to the likes of talonflame which put it to shame and is far more aesthetic and interesting to look at.
the machop clone is an ugly looking clown abomination
gothitelle line takes the gothic lolita look and makes it look putrid and terrible
all 3 starters look like hot garbage
swoobat looks so bad that i actually longed for seeing nothing but endless zubats in caves
keldeo is pure mlp shit and the 3 sword legendaries are pure cringe to look at
gen 5 factually has few redeeming factors when it comes to the looks of the pokemon in its dex.
if you want to delude yourself into liking those childish designs then that's on you, but the majority of people are not willing to accept that shit as the solid pokemon designs we've come to love and expect.
