It's heart and soul may be long gone, and it's empty husk may be plotted around on strings held up by cheap new gimmicks and toy sales, but it's never going to be so unprofitable that it'll be allowed to die. It'll literally alway be worth more than any other game in it's category, regardless of quality, so your series is objectively superior. Stop bithcing.
