Digimon are uniquely immune to this particular criticism, because right from the very start their design philosophy was "pile on more stuff the stronger they get". Turn your lizard into a cyborg? Sure. Leather, chains, and steel bolts all over? Why not. Literally become a tyrannosaurus dragon made out of guns? Fuck yeah!

That's just how it works for Digimon. They set the absurdity ceiling so high from the get go that they can get away with anything now.

The fact we could have had these and instead for the bird and deer makes me sad. At the very least the top one is infinitely better than Yveltal, and looks both far more sinister and alien, like it's not of this world. Which, honestly, is appropriate for a creature of death.

Hope they use these designs sometime, but I doubt they will.
