It's a pretty much 50/50 chance here. The main issue with Marnie being a traveling companion though is that she's almost certainly gonna be doing the League as well since that seems to be a core part of her character/story. It's not like the other girls where they can introduce an alternate goal for her here since there's clearly supposed to be a connection between her desire to win the League and the plot.

If it's someone else, there's plenty of other options for their goal. Galar seems to be clearly huge on business and the idea of Pokemon working alongside industry so some kind of upstart girl looking to make a name for herself on any kind of corporate or industry scene could work.

She's a Version Exclusive Gym Leader and they'll most likely put Allister as a Gym Leader in the anime
