Things I miss:
1. Horde battles
2. Triple battles
3. Rotation battles
4. White punching bag EV reset

Gen 6 was the peak of the franchise for competitive battling.

This is true. While gen 6 was when pokemon definitely lost its soul, it actually had some good points. Normally when a new game comes out, I transfer all my pokemon up so that I can replay older games, but I haven't done that in OR because it's got all those + the breeding resort. I don't have to destroy my circle pad to breed.

Horde battles are the most efficient way of EV training. Casualization came from wonder trades.

There's time consuming and then there's a tedious boring crawl of a game. If a Pokémon game came out that was literally nothing but a wide open expanse with every mon and a daycare so you could do nothing but grind up for the online modes it would get a 3/10 from everywhere. You have to wait until you get the power items and pokerus for this shit to be efficient. I'd rather just do the Super Training minigame that you have access to anytime.

And that's fine. Having options is fine. I may prefer hordes but I did use super training to EV train my XY team. It was also a great way to introduce general players to how EVs worked in an understandable manner. And then they trashed it in gen 7...

I hated that too, but at least they had the pelago with the passive EV training, which could also train multiple pokemon at the same time. Trade-off I had to accept, I guess.

Pelago's nice but the time travel glitch is where it really shines. Rather have a screwed up clock for 2 days than deal with EV training the normal way in dun and moon.
