>>39770259>And even then it’s a fucking dark typeThis shouldn't be an excuse for such complex and abstract personalities.
If you're making a villain, then fine, cool, but that's a Digimon. The only grey areas as far as motivation is concerned with pokemon are legendaries.
It's okay for Kyurem to want to reunite with Zekrom and Reshiram, because there's only one Kyurem. It's unique, it is a specific character, so it makes sense for the motivations of this one entity to define the species.
Being dark type does not mean "This character acts like a saturday morning cartoon villain"
A good example is something like Tyranitar. It's dark type because it doesn't comprehend personal consequences for violence, and wants to expand its territory. That's a complicated, but still basically animal motivation easily relateable to the basic animal drives for food and shelter, and an extension of that related to its biology. It isn't plotting how to trash talk someone, or how to ruin the day of this gang of bidoof, no, it has straightforeward, uncomplicated motivations that can be expanded on if need be, but can broadly apply to the species without overly characterizing them.
Komm-o, on the other hand, has this insane nonsensical bullshit story about preparing for "The darkness" that wouldn't be out of place on character profile to describe someone on a personal quest. That is not an animal, that is a digimon.
Conkeldur, which apparently every one in the world makes concrete to use as weapons, is not an animal, it's a digimon.
Apparently literally every Bagon in the world wants to fly. Every single one, and if there's an exception, it's so noteworthy as to be significant. There's no room to use these as bases from which to build on.
That's the difference. According to how things are laid out, yes, every single incineroar acts like that. Your basic common sense tells you that's impossible, and, good on you, it IS impossible, assuming Incineroar is an animal, and not a digimon
