>>39767976well the reason it occurred to me primarily has to do with a dinosaur documentary I watched when I was a kid that posited that carrion birds may be direct descendants of the t-rex and presented evidence to suggest that the t-rex itself was actually a scavenger, not an active predator, including a depiction of the t-rex based on a vulture where it had a bright red head of its own. granted, I have no idea of any of that stuff actually holds up to scientific scrutiny and I'm willing to bet it doesn't, but it stuck in my mind and emerged when I looked at druddigon's head in this thread's OP. so that's where I'm coming from with all this.
