It’d be weird for a Rattata clone to be tied to a gimmick like that, plus we’ve only seen those trees in the wild area. If it is available in the grass on route 1, then I can’t imagine why they haven’t revealed it yet. I know they’re being more conservative than they were with SM, but that doesn’t explain why they’d wait so long on something as basic as the rodent.
I’m guessing Wooloo and Zigzagoon both fill the role, like how Yungoos and Alolan Rattata did in SM.
