It's a little late to the party.
By now, most people have their gacha drug of choice, and some people have even sunk money into their choice. You really can't sustain two of these things unless you are a literal neet
If this hit two or three years ago, it'd be doing much better, but as it stands, it's competing with the years of investment people have in shit like Fate Grand Order, Fire Emblem Heroes, Granblue, and even GO.

Final point, pokemon news has been pretty much blanket obscured by dexit shit
