The most astounding thing I’ve seen about these games is the performance. No frame rate drops, double battles don’t chug. The absolute worst we’ve seen is slight pop in with the Wild Area.

Probably look worse and run better desu. Most Switch games so far in handheld mode have less framedrops than in Console mode because they take opportunity of the smaller screen to REALLY downgrade all visual effects.

Because even with SM’s trailers and early footage we saw the frame rate constantly take a dive or animations make the game chug. We haven’t seen that yet for SWSH. In fact this is probably the best the games have ran since Gen 5. I’m just surprised by it even though I’m still not buying it.

Nigga did you watch any of the trailers for SM? Go back and do it right now. Whoever edited those videos didn’t give a shit about whether or not the footage showed the game running like ass.

And you must be super retarded because we don’t have just the trailers to go off of. They just revealed the town tour which still has the loading when entering buildings but from the footage it took less than a second. We have tons of footage of the gym demo that didn’t have any problems either. And the Treehouse footage which like I said, only showed off pop in when you’re in the Wild Area.

It will probably look nearly identical to the footage we've seen so far. The compromises and feature set of the game are likely broadly established to the ends of a more ideal portable experience first and scaling up for docked play second.

The single joy-con control scheme wasn't brought back (also an issue due to camera control in the Wild Area), single console multiplayer wasn't brought back, the side activities like jobs are probably built around bite sized engagement, and, most relevant, the overall visuals have likely been adjusted to ensure a reasonable battery life per charge. Basically, when folks notice the games don't look as amazing as they hoped this, might be a part of why that is. At least in terms of raw assets.
