They picked a brighter color palette for the tropical island setting. I like the colors in SM, but I guarantee it's going back to something more muted in the Galar gen.

...SM's neon blue-green makes everything look far colder than how real life tropical vegetation look.
Dark blue sky and deep green vegetation are like the typical features of tropical places.
I don't see how replacing these with colder colors is somehow a good idea...

God damn it this makes me sad...

I fell in love with the artstyle of the older Pokemon movies. It was so authentic, so nostalgic for a place I've never been yet felt right at home as soon as I saw it.

It's no wonder I can't even try and watch the newer stuff out of curiocity, the aesthetic is just so childish, unrealistic, and without any love or care.

Call it nostalgia-fagging all you want, but the art was much better back then--much more authentic and dear to heart.
